Do You Need an Original “Recipe” to Start a Business?

“Everyone says they’re just trying to get their piece of the pie.  They don’t realize the world is a kitchen, you can make your own pie!”   This quote probably makes you hungry as well as motivated.

It also starts the baking metaphor.

You are working for another baker, following their recipes, sweating in a hot kitchen to craft a product that someone else takes credit for.

You are ready to make the jump.  You love baking, but think you could do better running your own bakery.

You just need an original pie recipe.  But, what if you can’t find that “million dollar recipe.”

Franchising allows you to be an entrepreneur and use someone else’s recipe!  Buying a franchised business concept allows you to use that proven concept to start your own business.  It takes one of the “ifs” out of the equation – the product (or service).

Let’s go back to the bakery metaphor.  You have heard of this great pie being served in a different state.  You can bring that recipe to your area, become a formidable competitor with existing bakeries in the area, and be your own boss.
